Did you know that October is national animal safety and protection Month? Well, now you know! This special month is created to promote the health, safety and well-being of all animals, and also to help people learn how to stay safe around animals. because I’m a cat, I’d like to focus on pet safety today. Of course, I never do anything hazardous but my brother Harley is a different story. I’m going to use Harley to go over some crucial pet safety tips.

What is Harley doing? It looks like he’s about to play with some MATCHES! Of course, ideal now he’s just looking around to make sure no one sees him doing something bad. Let’s see what happens next…

Oh Harley! playing with matches is wrong. Actually, terminate safety is an crucial topic if you have pets. here are a few tips:

Make sure you have smoke alarms installed in your home, and that they are in good working order.

Keep your family pets away from open flames such as candles, fireplaces and stovetops and don’t let them play with matches!

Candles are especially hazardous around cats considering that we can easily jump onto tabletops and counters so if you have cats, consider flameless candles or electric candle warmers instead

Now look what that maniac is up to: Harley is running with scissors! Well, these are actually pet nail scissors so they don’t have a sharp point. This brings up an crucial safety topic–it’s crucial to keep your pet’s nails trimmed so they don’t get caught in carpeting or fabric possibly causing an injury. Also, if you disregard to keep your pet’s nails trimmed, it can make it tough for your pet dog to walk, and if the nails continue to grow unchecked they can even grow into your dog’s paw pads!

Good grief! now Harley is about to use a knife to help himself to a wedge of cheese. everyone knows that family pets must never be allowed to play with sharp objects. I recommend a treat jar filled with tasty bite-sized pet treats that don’t need to be cut up.

Finally, my a lot of crucial idea of all: if you’re going to do something that might not be safe, always check with your mommy or daddy first.
